Tom Costelloe appeal confirmed

Free The Plymouth Two - Click for DetailsPromoter / DJ Tom Costelloe's appeal against his conviction for allowing drugs to be sold in Plymouth's Dance Academy is to be heard on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 October in the Court of Appeal.

We understand that the appeal will be heard as part of a parcel of cases affected by the 'Davis Points' - a new rule that witness statements given anonymously (like those given by the cops who participated in the Dance Academy trial) are no longer admissable as evidence. The Lord Chief Justice and a panel of judges may decide on a retrial, to quash his conviction, or not to do anything at all, in which case he will still able to appeal on other grounds. It's unlikely there will be a decision for a couple of weeks.
